Both educationally and experientially, Theresa brings a vast array of knowledge to the business arena. She has earned Associate Degrees in Business Administration (from American Intercontinental University, Hoffman Estates, IL.) and Accounting (from Coastal Carolina Community College, Jacksonville, NC.), as well as certificates in payroll, income tax, bookkeeping and accounting (and is a member of the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers). A decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy (Aug. 1999--Nov. 2002) who served as an Active Duty Seaman and Administrative Assistant in the Transportation office of NATO Headquarters (and awarded the National Defense Service Medal), Theresa\'s employment history includes working at Onslow Community Ministries Homeless Shelter (where she interviewed, conducted background checks, and counseled residents on how to seek jobs, develop their skills, and make themselves more employable), as well as a two-year stint at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service (working in customer service, billing, inventory, supply ordering, and other administrative and clerical duties--and earning their Top Preparer Award).
At CVA, Theresa\'s primary responsibilities are supporting the online aspects of her clients\' businesses, running the day-to-day systems that keep their businesses up and running smoothly, as well as maintaining customer service, managing websites, processing orders and payments, growing lists, nurturing their customers, and getting their name \"out there.\" Additionally, as a VA-TL, Theresa is responsible for the guidance, support, and development of her entire Virtual Assistant Team - ensuring that it maintains the high industry standards Contemporary Virtual Assistance guarantees their clients.
As the guiding force behind her Virtual Assistant Team, it is Theresa\'s job to encourage team members to further develop their skills, urge them to participate in activities and trainings (recommending appropriate training resources and ensuring that training needs are attained), and assure that team members are readily available should another team member require assistance. Moreover, Theresa is involved with staff reviews (along with Human Resources, General Management Team, and Executive Management), collaborates with the GM Team to help institute team improvements, and is charged with spot-checking apprentice work to ensure that it meets established expectations - and CVA\'s high professional standards.
Trainer, mentor, and go-to person - Theresa is instrumental in helping her team members grow their client lists and become successful, assisting in identifying client issues (resolving or escalating issues as needed), and working closely with other Teams Leaders and management to provide and design standards, training, resources, and growth throughout the CVA organization - accomplishing all facets most effectively. But first and foremost, Theresa\'s main goal is understanding her clients\' vision and goals so that she can best support them in achieving them.
